Ambassador for languages

We are delighted to announce that our Education Director, Jo Small, has been awarded Highly Commended status by the judges from the National Centre for Languages (CILT) 2010-11 Business Language Champions Ambassador Award.

euro globeCILT’s Business Language Champions Awards programme recognises and celebrates businesses and individuals that are supporting language learning in schools.  Successful ambassadors must demonstrate how they have succeeded in raising the ambitions and horizons of young people through languages by helping them to realise the importance of languages for work.

For the past few years, Optima Training (UK) Ltd has set up a competition for Year 9 students at The Grove School to prepare a presentation to promote language learning amongst primary schools, businesses or the local community.

Jo will receive formal recognition of her achievement at the European Language Label Awards Ceremony on 4 July 2011 at the new European Commission office in central London.

We would like to thank Newark Business Club, Newark Beacon and our prestigious judges for all their support over the past few years.
