The Christmas card hunt was a big hit this year and we received an overwhelming number of responses to our competition. The winners came from Pera Innovation, CBR Accountancy and WilSon Energy.
The lucky competition winners that were the first back with correct responses are:
Iain Roche – Pera Innovation
Iain was the first to find Card 1 within the ‘news’ pages and won a £30 voucher for Marks & Spencer. Iain works within Business Intelligence at Pera, a leading European innovation network, inspiring and enabling clients to transform their products, business processes and people beyond their competitors reach.
Iain made a very considered and well delivered acceptance speech but unfortunately it was far too long to print on these pages.
Iain selected his charity as the Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) at Freemans Hospital and a donation of £50 was made on his behalf. The charity was founded in 1979 by parent Ann Scott after the death of her daughter Lesley Ann caused by a congenital heart defect.
CHUF funds enabled the artificial heart programme to start in the late 1990’s and still makes an important contribution to the programme, having funded specialist monitoring equipment to enable the current devices to be used more safely. Click here to make a donation.
Laura Lynn – CBR Accountancy
Laura found the second card, which was located on our page about ‘Offender Learning’ and received a bottle of Champagne for her winning entry.
She works for CBR Accountancy, a firm of Accountants based in Newark-on-Trent. The firm specialises in support to smaller businesses and individuals, offering accounts, taxation and business advisory and support services.
Laura asked us to make a contribution to Macmillan Cancer Support and we have donated £50 on her behalf. Macmillan Cancer Support helps to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all. Click here to make a donation.
Andy Wilkinson – WilSon Energy Limited
Andy was our third competition winner and correctly identified Card 3, which was on the Language Clubs page, and wins a £15 iTunes voucher. WilSon Energy is an energy metering, monitoring and control services company operating across all market sectors and offering a range of tailored solutions to help reduce energy consumption.
Andy selected Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance as his charity and a donation of £50 pounds has been made to help support their activities.
The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is a dedicated medical air service based at RAF Waddington. In 2007/2008 they flew 1104 missions and on 6th March 2008 completed their 10,000th mission.
In England and Wales there are eighteen dedicated Air Ambulance operations flying a total of 29 helicopters and all are reliant upon charitable support. Click here to make a donation.
