School language projects started
Jo Small, Education Director at Optima Training (UK) Ltd, recently launched a project at the Grove School in Newark as part of the Business Language Champion scheme. The project seeks to get students thinking about the importance of language skills and how they can promote this to others in their local community.
Working in teams, the students will develop a leaflet or poster to promote the importance of learning languages to their chosen target audience – either school pupils, businesses or the general public.
On 15 July, they will present their ideas to a panel of local business representatives with the winners being judged on the level of research demonstrated, audience appeal, creativity and clarity of communication skills.
