Optima Wins Community Commitment Award
And the winner of this year’s Community Commitment Award is… Optima Training (UK) Limited.
We attended this year’s Newark Business Awards in November as finalists. And we were pleased to win the award for Business Commitment to the Community.
Our nomination was largely due to the work of Jo Small, our Education Director, and her commitment to the promotion of language learning in the local area. She has been contributing time to language projects at the Grove School in Newark, encouraging pupils to develop their language and business skills. She has also been working with young offenders.
Nick Hewer presented the award. He is famed for his appearances and candour as Sir Alan Sugar’s right hand man on the television show The Apprentice. Nick entertained the guests with his stories from behind the scenes of filming the next series. He then answered questions and gave his views on some of the challenges facing small businesses in the current economic climate.

But the state of the economy was forgotten for one night as the wine flowed, and Optima celebrated its success.
We would like to thank all of the judges for their decision. We look forward to another year of working with the children at Grove School.
