Celebrating European languages

Optima was once again celebrating European languages with local businesses. We held our annual celebration of the European Day of Languages on Friday 25th September. Participants on the day took part in a series of free language tasters, sampling food and drink from Spain, France and Germany.

Mrs Rita Crowe, Mayor of Newark

The Mayor of Newark, Mrs Rita Crowe, and her consort, Mr Robert Crowe, get some French tips from Optima’s trainer, Pierrette Humphreys.

The event was supported by local businesses and several staff from John Hunt Primary School. Also in attendance were the Mayor of Newark, Mrs Rita Crowe, and her Consort, Mr Robert Crowe.

After the French language taster, both the Mayor and her consort demonstrated their love of learning languages by staying on for another session. This time for a German language taster delivered by our own Jo Small.

Is celebrating European languages easier with a bottle of Champagne?

As seems to be becoming a tradition for Optima Training events, we held a champagne prize draw. The winner was Claire Wakeham from Lifeways Community Care based at Newark Beacon. Lifeways Community Care is an established and respected provider of person-centred packages of enablement and support services throughout the UK.
