Big year for languages

We are delighted to announce that  Optima Language Project with the Grove School is due to launch on Monday 26th September 2011. This is a really important date in the languages calendar as it is also the 10th anniversary of The European Day of Languages.  This year approximately sixty pupils from Year 8 will take part in the Optima Language Project challenge. They will have to develop and deliver a presentation designed to persuade people to learn languages. This is the third time that the Grove School and Optima Training have worked together

The judging event will take place on Friday 4th November. It will take place at the Newark Beacon with a panel of judges drawn from the local business community. The management at Newark Beacon have, once again, come up trumps and are letting us use their fantastic conference facilities to hold our event.

We are still on the lookout for local business people who can share their experiences with languages. We are also looking for people able to provide some mentoring in the run up to the judging event.
