Online training

Online training and eLearning are terms that mean different things to different people. They are often used interchangeably, which can be confusing. We offer both and will help you to find the right approach for your organisation.

Online training

This puts you in a virtual learning space with your trainer, allowing you to achieve a high level of immediate engagement.

It is ideal for smaller teams, or for teams that are based in different locations. Saving you the time and costs associated with travel and finding a venue. The technical term for sessions scheduled in this way is synchronous learning.

One of the dangers of online learning is that it can make learners feel that they are watching the telly. All that screen time can start to make people feel relaxed and, to a certain extent, passive. Not with us! We use break-out rooms, chat and other techniques to ensure that our online training includes everyone.

Sometimes you will struggle to get all of your teams to participate in training at the same time. When that happens, we capture the session and make it available to others at a later date. The technical term for content delivered in that way is asynchronous learning. It is a great way of making training available to people without necessarily impacting on work – allowing you to engage with the content at a time when you are most likely to absorb the information.

You can still share your insights or ask questions of the trainer through our Learning Zone.

e-Learning

This approach is self-directed and is not facilitated by a trainer. eLearning will work when you need to share content with an audience that is in different locations or that cannot engage in sessions at the same time.

Of course, we like to create eLearning that is bespoke for you. Our trainers work with you to create courses that are specific to the needs of your organisation. Materials are appropriately branded, and video content reflects your work context. The result is engaging content that delivers the learning outcomes that you need.

Bespoke eLearning can stand alone or work as part of a blended programme that combines face-to-face and online learning. By creating online versions of your training room programmes, you enable participants to refresh their knowledge at a later date. eLearning allows you to deploy courses to new members of the team quickly and cost effectively.

eLearning can be provided as a stand-alone file, which can be uploaded to your organisation’s Learner Management System. If you don’t have access to a Learner Management System, don’t worry. We can provide you with access to our Learning Zone.

The first step is to understand if online training or eLearning is going to deliver what you want. Let’s talk.

Learning Zone

The Optima Training Learning Zone gives you the benefits of a Learner Management System. It allows us to share online training content and eLearning materials with programme participants. We can also track progress and ensure learners have understood the materials using interactive content.

Our more traditional programmes can also make use of the Learning Zone. Workshop participants are able to access materials from the session as well as additional content that extends their learning.

We have also made available additional courses that complement the programme. This is as close as we get to “off the shelf”. Curated content that also provides a different flavour, enriching your online experience with us.
