Milestone: OptimatrainingUK hits 5000 subscribers
OptimatrainingUK is our YouTube channel. This month we reached a milestone and gained our 5000th subscriber. It’s not millions we know, but for a small training company we are quite pleased and we like to celebrate!
How OptimatrainingUK got started
It was launched back in 2015 so showcase our first animation. During the next five years, we posted a total of five videos. YouTube didn’t really feature in our social media strategy.
One of those first videos was Six Thinking Hats produced using a Scribe Animation package. The audio quality is not very good to be honest. I would like to think we have improved over the years.
Then in 2020, like many businesses, the global pandemic disrupted our approach to work. Unable to deliver training in real rooms due to restricted working practices, we pivoted to an Online Training delivery model. We were producing a lot of content for our Learning Zone and we decided to put some of it onto the YouTube channel. We posted six new videos that year, and noticed that people seemed to like our style of delivery.
The following year we added seven more videos. One of those was our most popular video to date An Introduction to the Business Model Canvas that provides an overview of one of our favourite strategy tools. So we have been putting out around six videos per year for the last five years – just ticking along.
Milestone reached
This year has been a busy one. For the first time we released three videos at the same time. Focusing on the Strategy Canvas and using our Learning Zone format of an introduction, a how to guide and an example.
And this month, not only did we hit 5000 subscribers, but we have released a rare video – as it features Jo as the narrator. An Introduction to Action Learning Sets provides an overview of a technique that we have been using within our skills development programmes quite successfully for many years. Check it out, and like the video so that we can encourage her to return to the audio booth.
